If this were Heaven, the Revs would play 24/7

So I'm currently experiencing what one might call "soccer withdrawal." With the Revs season already in the history books, and the holidays upon us, I must admit that it can be tough posting here with more regularity. Without a paycheck from blogger or internet access at work (recently cut off by my employer - thanks, AAA), I find myself struggling to keep this blog updated.

"NONETHELESS!", I cry...here are some updates with respect to our Super Revs...

-Joey Franchino was at the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in Boston during the week.

-Michael Parkhurst and Willie Sims, both members of the Generation adidas program, are currently playing with their Generation adidas compatriots in England. They are currently 2-1-0 as of Friday, December 8, with shutout wins vs. Queens Park Rangers (2-0) reserves and Watford reserves (3-0). The squad was supposed to have played Chelsea FC reserves, but the Blues reserves could not field an adequate team. The tour is scheduled through December 10.

- Clint Dempsey is reportedly receiving offers from both Fulham FC and Everton of the EPL for a possible transfer in Janauary. Although nothing yet has been confirmed, it is widely rumored that a deal with Fulham is all but done.

-Demand for Shalrie Joseph's services has apparently gotten 1 million pounds richer, as Celtic FC has reportedly upped its transfer offer to 2 million pounds, as the team pushes forward in its quest for a Champions League title.

Although not Revolution-related per se, I feel it's worth mentioning that local URI footballer (no, not one of Tim Stowers' football players) Jeffrey Gonsalves has been named to the 2006 Collegiate Soccer News All-America Third Team. The Rhody senior forward posted 18 goals and 5 assists with the Rams this season, and was also invited to the 2007 adidas MLS Player Combine last week.

If anyone has any other updates with respects to our Revs, feel free to pass them along.
